Installing SQL 2008 R2 64 bit (standard (or) enterprise editions ) on Windows 2008 R2 64 bit

01. Disable User account control (UAC) feature of Windows 2008.
type useraccountcontrolsettings in the run menu, Adjust the slider down to never notify. Press Ok button. You must restart the computer for changes to apply
02. Run setup.exe from SQL 2008 R2 setup source folder and follow the screen shorts attached.
03. Install SQL 2008 service pack1. ( it's straight forward, Just follow the service pack installation wizard)
04. Disable Windows firewall (IPM+ executing validator.exe from POS clients, which may not able to contact the server, and POS client may hang). A permanent fix
will be given to this problem at the earliest, time being just disable Windows Firewall in the POS server.
05. Install RayMedi POS setup.
06. AntiVirus : Exclude POS Installed folder and SQL 2008 installed folder from antivirus scanning.

Service packs recommended
1. Windows 2008 - SP1 (or) higher
2. SQL 2008 R2 - SP1 (or) higher
