When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections.

Dear Team ,

When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does
not allow remote connections.

Solution :

1. Goto Run, type WF.msc, and then click OK.
2. In the Windows Firewall with Advanced Security, in the left pane, right-click Inbound Rules, and then click New Rule in the
action pane
3. In the Rule Type dialog box, select Port, and then click Next.

we need to enable two ports TCP(1433) UDP (1434)

4. select TCP and enter 1433 in the port field and give a name and then follow the same process by giving UDP and enter 1434
and finish the process.
5. Restart the SQL and try connecting in the client.

I have given the short description. Follow the steps based on the things given above
